Abstract

The role of active packaging incorporated with naturallyoccuring antioxidants for the improvement of food products quality is a well established fact now. Therefore, the aim of this present study was to investigate the effects produced by the incorporation of C. sinesis (green tea), T. catappa (Indian almond) and T. ammi (ajwain) extracts with fractions (1,2 and 5%) into high densitypolyehtylene films. Modified plastic films, coated with composite polyphenolics gelatinous mixture wewre modified and further analysed for their phsiochemical properties. Due to slight increase in concentration of the antioxidants in HDPE films, haze was observed during optical properties studies. In contast, all extracts and fractions imparted significant effects on water vapor properties in all types of HDPE formulations
