In Pakistan there is a considerable amount of agricultural wastes resources (AW). The AW is a type of biomass that could be transformed in to high value products by exploiting pyrolysis technique. The core issues of biomass utilization are the feedstock is varied. Also the pyrolysis mechanism still needs to be understood deeply. This talk is focused on these core issues and a new process that combine torrefaction, step pyrolysis and catalysis pyrolysis is elaborated. Some results on biomass torrefaction and pyrolysis characteristic of torrefacted biomass will be shared.
