Abstract

Essential oil production is one of the most significant production as it is one of the most economical way of using waste.  Essential oil has to be taken out of plants and other oil possessing compounds. In the current work, we have taken out orange and rose essential oils by using Water distillation technique. We have done batch distillation to extract oil. The result obtained are very much similar to literature. For Orange peels, we did 5 hour water distillation for 400g orange peel in 1500ml water sample that yielded 1ml of oil. For Rose petals, the time for the experiment was same i-e 5 hours and the result for 500g sample of rose petals in 1250ml water yielded 0.3ml of oil. The major advantage of these oils is that we can use them in cooking, in perfumes etc. The residue that left can be used as a fuel and that is environment friendly.
