Abstract

Agriculture is considered as back bone in subcontinent. And in these areas, rice is being produced in large amount. As (ash of) husk is the by-product of rice and is separated from the rice. Husk of rice in back days, was discarded, as mostly people did not know the use of this by-product of agriculture (rice). To discard, mostly it was thrown into the channels of water (canals and rivers etc.). That could cause disturbance in the flow of water. To avoid this problem many uses and conversion of this husk was introduced. Through these methods, not only the problem (discussed earlier) was minimized but it also added the value to the crop of rice. In this article, author wants to compile the most of basic uses of rice husk ash. Different methods are discussed in this study to convert this husk (husk ash) into silica and magnesium silicate. Rice husk ash can also be used as replacement of cement in concrete. It also includes the magnesium silicate production from husk. This study also discuss about the use of rice husk as corrosion inhibitor material. In this article author compiled these uses in short and brief way so that (the ash of) this by-product could be used effectively.
