Abstract
Scaling in boiler/heat exchangers badly effect the efficiency of a process in industry. Equipment use extra energy when the scaling increases from its allowable limit which increases the cost of process and also effect the efficiency of equipment. Extreme scaling could damage the condition of boiler/heat exchanger unit and may lead to blasting of boiler and makes the work place unsafe.And in this project various techniques are applied to remove the deposited scale inside the boiler which is the one of the parameter to increase the efficiency or of boiler/exchangers and helps decrease the utility cost and makes the process safe for worker which is highly recommended in industry. Experimental data/results shows that 2.5M HCL mixed with 0.80 gm of glutamine as an inhibiters has the maximum dissolving potential of scale then other acid concentrations and also helps to avoid the corrosion inside the boiler and hence increases the life of equipment. The solubility potential different acid in descending order are as follow (HCl > H3PO4> HNO3> CH3COOH>H2SO4).Percentage of scale removal was also investigated. The main parameters of this study are time and acid concentration.
