Tapping Solar Energy: A way forward in 21st Century
Last modified: 2016-12-05
Abstract
Solar energy captured by earth in less than a month is more than energy stored in all fossil fuels on the planet both used and unused.Pakistan is an exceptionally sunny country. If only 0.25% of Balochistan (about 0.1% of Pakistan) is covered with solar panels with an efficiency of just 20%, enough electricity would be generated to meet demand of all of Pakistan. In this talk we shall discuss opportunities and challenges ahead in the economic utilization of this immense and sustainable source of energy to eliminate load shedding for ever.
