Abstract

Access to energy related infrastructure in general and Provision of electricity in particular have significant impact on the overall social and economic aspects of the society. It is pertinent to mention that even in the 21st century nearly 1.3 billion people live in the dark and do not have access to basic electricity. Out of these 1.3 billion people living without lifeline of energy reside mostly in the villages or undeveloped areas of the developing countries. On the other hand there is a growing concern of universal access to energy or energy for all under sustainable development goals(SDG) prescribed by the supreme organization of the world named United Nations. In this situation, off-grid rural electrification is the most appropriate option to meet the stated SDG Goal of Cheap and affordable Energy for all. As a consequence, scientific literature is rich in providing the general framework on this topic. The given analysis is based on review of 5 research papers which describes the role of off-grid rural electrification systems and proposes a novel model of off-grid rural electrification on the basis of new solar topology of decentralized micro-grid.
