Effect of Salary, Promotion, and Relationships with Colleagues on Secondary School Teachers’ Job Satisfaction
Abstract
The present study attempted to investigate the effect of salary, promotion, and relationships with colleagues on teachers’ job satisfaction. This quantitative study was based on a descriptive survey design and was carried out by performing a cross- sectional survey. Through simple random sampling technique, 300 teachers were selected as research subjects from the public sector secondary schools of the district Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan. Two structured questionnaires were developed t explore the perceptions of respondents about the effect of salary, promotion, and relationships with colleagues on teachers’ job satisfaction. All psychometric properties were ensured in the development of the final versions of the both instruments. Mean, standard deviation, simple linear regression and stepwise regression were used as statistical techniques for data analysis purpose. The results revealed that salary, promotion, and relationships with colleagues have significant effect on teachers’ job satisfaction.
