Expansion and Development of Cheshti Dynasties in Southern India (Deccan)

Abstract


Islam entered the subcontinent's land during the reign of Muhammad BinQasim Saghaf. But as a result of the conquests, the Ghaznavids opened thegates of the continent to the world of Islam and paved the way for the entryof Islam, and also the subsequent governments of the Ghurids, Sultans andTaimurids made great efforts to spread and develop of Islam. As a result,mystics and sufis from different worlds migrated to this land andpropagated the religion of Islam here, and the religion of Islam spreadthroughout the subcontinent. A study of the history books reveals that alarge number of Sufis were active in various parts of the Deccan e.g. MiranSeyyed Hosseini, Seyyed Shah Momen, Seyyed Alaeddin, Sheikh Shaila,Seyyed Ali Shahid, etc.Keywords: Islam, Spread, South India, Deccan, Mystics and Sufis.
