The importance Pir & Murshid in the poetry of Hazrat Sultan Bahu (Punjabi and Persian poet) and Five Persian poets including Nezami, Rumi, Saadi, Hafez and Jami
Abstract
Hazrat Sultan Bahu and five great Persian poets including Nezami Ganjavi,Maulana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi, Saadi Shirazi, Hafez Shirazi andMaulana Abdul Rahman Jami are among the great personalities in thehistory of Persian and Punjabi literature. All these five Persian poets areconsidered as the most important and greatest poets in the history of Persianliterature and there is no doubt that these great poets took the Persianlanguage to the heights of heavens. Even poets of the other languages wereinfluenced by them.Although, the Punjabi language is not very close toPersian, but the influence of Persian language and poetry cannot be ignored.Hazrat Sultan Bahu was a pure Sufi, but he also achieved a lot as a poet,and he is considered one of the most important Punjabi poets, and also aPersian poet. Hazrat Sultan Bahu and the five great Persian poets mentionedabove, have many commonalities in expressing the importance of Murshidin Sufism.
