Life and Works of Sawami Bhupat Rai Bigham Biragi
Abstract
Persian Language has deeply influenced Indo-Pak Sub-Continent’sliterature. So many Muslims and Hindus created enormous literary works inthis sweet language. Bhupat Rai Bigham Biragi was a Hindu poet who livedduring Aourangzeb Alamgir’s period. His forefathers were from Pathan, avilliage in Jammu Kashmir. His family was famous for official correspondenceand legal documentation. Biragi also adopted the same profession. During thelater period of his life, he gave up this profession, developed interest inmysticism and became a lover of a Hindu boy Ram Narain Chand. He died in1132 A.H.
