Ratan Singh Zakhmi, An Introduction

Abstract


Ratan Singh Zakhmi is one of the renowned poets of 13th Century A.H.He belonged to Saksina, a sub cast of Kaista Hindus. Many of his familymembers were scholars of Persian and Arabic, attached with court of Awadhrulers. Zakhmi was born in Luckhnow, got his education in the same city andlearned Persian, Arabic, Turkish & English Languages. He accepted Islam in1264 A.H. and died three years later in 1267 A.H. Zakhmi was the pupil ofMirza Muhammad Hassan Qateel.
