The Reflection and Significance of Hazrat Ali in Allama Iqbal’s Poetry

Abstract


The praise and admiration of the family of the Holy Prophet has been the soul ofEastern poetry. The literature produced in Arabic, Persian, Urdu and other regionallanguages is full of such valuable majestic pearls. There seems to no sectariandiscrimination in this regard. Poets of all ages have followed the footsteps of theirpredecessors and have produced some great poetic assets. Hazrat Ali has no parallel inIslamic history as far as his knowledge, courage and generosity is concerned. So, ifsomebody intends to acquire knowledge about the reality and origin of the ideal humanbeing, he should concentrate on the personality of Hazrat Ali. Allama Muhammad Iqbalis truly known as a poet of East, but his significance as a lover of Holy Prophet and hisfamily is even more admirable. At so many occasions he has show his immemorial loveand devotion towards the Holy Prophet and his family and his passion for Hazrat Aliwhich has been analyzed in this research paper.Key words: Sub-Continent’s Persian Poetry, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Praise of theHoly Prophet and his Family, Praise of Hazrat Ali, Analysis.
