Effects of code mixing in Indian film songs

Abstract


The study examines the reasons and effects of code-mixing inIndian films songs on the youth. A questionnaire was designed toanalyze the reasons and for assessing the effects of code-mixing inIndian film songs. A survey of 100 students of Lahore wasconducted. The findings of the study reveal that not even a singlereason or impact factor was rejected by the respondents whichclearly show that all reasons and effects are significant in their ownways. The analysis of data was brought to light by means offrequency of responses, graphical representation and descriptions,for the better understanding of a socio-linguistic phenomenon.
