|  Dr.  Farah Rauf Shakoori is working as Professor in the Institute of Zoology,  University of the Punjab, Lahore. She obtained her Master’s degree in Zoology  from University of the Punjab in 1989, and later proceeded to University of  Massachusetts Medical Center and Comprehensive Cancer Center, Worcester, USA to  undertake her Ph.D. program in collaboration with the University of the Punjab.  During her stay in America, She involved herself in understanding molecular  mechanism of cell cycle control and abnormal cell growth control which is  observed in cancer related diseases. She has published 117 original articles in  elite scientific journals such as Nature UK, Proceedings of National Academy  of Sciences USA, Journal of Biological Chemistry USA, Journal of Cellular  Physiology, USA, Molecular Biology Reports USA, Biochemistry USA, Journal of  Cellular Biochemistry USA, Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and  Toxicology USA,World Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology UK, Bioresource  Technology USA, Environmental Progress & Sustainable Energy USA, Water,  Proteomics, International Journal of Science and Technology, Brazillian Journal  of Microbiology, . She has accumulated an impact  factor of   173.855, H-index 27 and i10-index  50. She has total citations of her research publication is 2563 according to  Google scholar. She has contributed in book chapters “Numerical changes in  chromosomes” in a book “Chromosome structure and Aberrations” published by  Springer Verlag” and “Insect  population Dynamics and climate change. In: Climate Change and Insect  Biodiversity Challenges and implications (1st Eds.); CRC Press: Boca  Raton, FL, USA. 124-146 pp”. She  has 47 sequences submitted to Genbank.Presently  Dr. Farah Shakoori is engaged in research project in the areas of Environmental  Biotechnology and Molecular Biology. She has won 4 research grants of PKRs 2.2, 4.7and 5.8 million from HEC two as Principle investigator and  one as Co-principal Investigator. One grant from PSF (Pakistan Science  Foundation) of 2 million as Principal Investigator.  She has also supervised research work of 16  Ph.D., 61 M.Phil/MS, 26 M.Sc. and 18 BS (Hons.) students. On the basis of  scientific achievements, Dr. Shakoori was awarded Research Productivity  Allowance by PCST for the Years 2002, 2011 and 2012. She has been listed in Productive Scientists of Pakistan by  PCST since 2007. She was awarded Prof. Dr. Mirza Azhar Beg Gold Medal in 2005 and Prof A. R. Shakoori Gold  Medal in 2008 by the Zoological Society of Pakistan. She has also won Open Gold Medal in Zoology of Pakistan Academy of Sciences in 2014 on  the basis of outstanding research contribution in the field of Molecular  Biology and Environmental Biotechnology.  She has won Zoologist of the year award 2020 from Zoological Society of  Pakistan. Dr. Shakoori has visited 11 countries. She has attended many  National and International conferences in San  Francisco USA (Presented posters) and General meeting of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) in  Italy, China, Argentina and Sultanate of Oman. She is also regular member  of international Organization for women in Science for the developing world  (OWSDW) under the umbrella of TWAS.
