|  Ameeq Farooq has been working as Assistant Professor  at the Institute  of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering since March 2023. He received PhD, M.Sc.  and B.Sc. degree in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering in 2023, 2013 and  2010, respectively. He has been working in the institute as Research Engineer since  2010, promoted as Research officer in 2012 and Lecturer in 2018. He has  diverse industrial, academic and research experience and worked on many industry-funded projects i.e.  “Mitigation of Internal Corrosion of  Steel-Pipes due to CO2, H2S and Bacteria”. He has  been engaged in providing consulting services to many metallurgical, chemical, and process industries  in Pakistan. Mr. Farooq’s teaching and research interests include nanomaterials,  solid/liquid interface, surface modification and treatments, coatings, cathodic  protection, corrosion engineering and electrochemistry in the broader context.At present, Mr. Ameeq is an active member of Association  of Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) (Formerly NACE  International) and is working as secretary of AMPP Pakistan Chapter. He is in-charge of the Corrosion  Control Research Cell at the University of the Punjab and is actively assisting  supporting both undergraduate and postgraduate students in their research work.  He  is member of many engineering bodies i.e. Pakistan Engineering  Council (PEC), Society of Corrosion Engineers Pakistan (SOCEP),  Institute of Corrosion (Icorr) and International Corrosion Council  (ICC). He has published more than 60 research articles in peer reviewed journals  of high repute and has presented his research work at many national and international  forums. Based on his dedicated and consistent engagement in the promotion of  extended learning and dissemination of knowledge about corrosion awareness in  Pakistan, Mr. Ameeq has been awarded ‘NACE Distinguished Service Award 2021’ and  is the recipient of appreciation certificates in 2020, 2021 and 2022 from the European  Federation of Corrosion (EFC).
