Dr. Aqeel Afzal is serving as Assistant Professor at Institute of Energy & Environmental Engineering since October, 2023. He did BSc. in Chemical Engineering from University of the Punjab, Lahore in 2009. He Completed his M.Sc. Coal Technology from the same university in 2012 and M.Phil, Coal Tchnology in 2016. Afterwards, he joined Kyungpook National University, South Korea and completed Ph.D in 2019. His Ph.D. research work was focused on "Fate and Kinetics of
N-nitrosamines Photodegradation for the Application to CO2 Capture Technologies". Afterwards he joined the same institute as Postdoc Researcher (Feb 2020-Sept 2022) and led a team working on the monitoring of stack gas emissions from a CO
2 capture plant (10 MW) built on a slip-stream of a coal fired power plant (500 MW) in South Korea. In October 2022, he joined as Postdoc Researcher University of Galway, Ireland. He was part of the group (Centre for Climate & Air Pollution Studies) working on ambient aerosol measurements and source apportionment.
