Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali (SI, TI) is a distinguished academician and  seasoned leader in the field of biological sciences. He currently serves as the  Vice Chancellor of the University of the Punjab. He is also serving as the  Chairman of the Board of Governors at the Centre of Excellence in Molecular  Biology (CEMB).
    Dr. Ali holds a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of  Wales, UK (1999) and completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of  Missouri, Columbia, USA. He also earned an MSc from the University of the  Punjab, Lahore.
    With a prolific academic and administrative career spanning several  decades, Prof. Ali has served as Vice Chancellor at seven leading universities  across Pakistan, including Quaid-i-Azam University, Government College  University Faisalabad, and Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan. He began his  academic journey as a lecturer at Murree’s Lawrence College.
    Prof. Ali has published over 1,140 research articles, with more  than 12,133 citations, contributing significantly to the advancement of  molecular biology and genetics. His research excellence has been recognized  through 19+ national awards, including Sitara-e-Imtiaz (SI), Tamgha-e-Imtiaz  (TI), Pakistan Academy of Sciences Gold Medal, Best University Teacher Award.
    He is an active member of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences (PAS) and plays a key role in national science policy and academic development. He  has also chaired the Punjab Accreditation Committee and has served on numerous  university syndicates, senates, and academic boards.
    Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali’s leadership and research contributions continue  to shape the scientific and educational landscape of Pakistan.
