Introduction
Dr. Hasssan Zeb has been working as an Assistant Professor at Institute of Energy and Environmental Engineering (IEEE) since April 2018 where he has taught multiple courses both at graduate and undergraduate level. He completed his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology (ICET), University of the Punjab in 2008. He worked for Premier Paper Mill for one year as a Shift Engineer before going to Karlstad University, Sweden in 2009 for his Master Degree in Chemical Engineering. Thereafter, he started his journey as a teacher from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Science and Technology in 2012. He obtained his PhD Degree from Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), South Korea in 2018. His distinguished achievements include the registration of an international patent with 16 SCI journal publications having a cumulative Impact Factor of about 100.
His key research areas include;
Supercritical fluid route to biomass conversion for fuels and value-added chemicals
Higher pressure liquefaction of biomass for bio-oil production
Value added chemicals from biomass feedstock
Production of liquid fuels and chemicals from coal
He has also supervised dozens of students (both from graduate and undergraduate levels) for their research thesis in areas like; Waste biomass liquefaction, Coal combustion and its effect on the environment, Efficiency improvement of domestic gas burners, Microwave pyrolysis of biomasses, coals, and their blends, Biomass/Coal characterization and their cleaning through physical means, Production of carbon-based nano particles from biomass/coal substrate etc.
Dr. Hassan is also the Program Coordinator for Ph.D. Energy Engineering, B.Sc. (Engg.) Energy Engineering, and M. Phil. Coal Technology at IEEE.
