Dr. Muhammad Asif Hussain
Currently, Dr. Asif is working as an Assistant Professor (TTS) at Institute of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering University of the Punjab Lahore. He has more than 13 years of research and teaching experience.
Previously he served as an Assistant Professor (TTS) at Department of Metallurgical and Materials and Center for Energy Research and Development (Jan. 2017- April 2022), University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. He also served as a Research Associate (Lecturer) (2011-2012) and as a Graduate Assistant (2009-2011) at Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, GIK Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Topi, Pakistan.
He did his BSc Engineering in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering (Hons) from University of the Punjab, Lahore, MS Nanotechnology and Materials Engineering from GIK, Institute Topi, Pakistan, and PhD in Catalytic Materials from Kangwon National University, South Korea.
His research interests include, the synthesis, characterization, mechanical, electrical, and electrochemical evaluation of functionally graded materials (FGM), nanomaterials, ceramic/metal/polymer-based nanocomposites, and porous materials for biomedical and structural applications. The design, characterization, and application of heterogeneous catalysts and nanohybrid materials.
He taught subjects of Biomaterials, Advanced Materials, Nuclear Materials, Industrial and Financial Management, Foundry Engineering, Ceramic Materials, Iron and Steel Making Process, Materials and Technology, Industrial Materials, Inspection and Quality Assurance, Polymeric Materials, Corrosion and Corrosion Control at undergraduate level. While at post graduate level he taught Conventional Surface Engineering Methods, Principles of Surface Science, Coating Tech and Surface Analysis, Production of Metals and Alloys, Advanced Biomaterials.
