Dr. Shamaila Dodhy is the Associate Professor of the Institute of English Studies, University of the Punjab, Lahore. She was awarded Certificate of Merit for successfully accomplishing PhD with distinction by Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia in 2018. She was also awarded Certificate of Achievement by Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia for successfully graduating on time. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on Trauma Studies, Literature of Trauma, Attachment Trauma Theory, African-American Literature and African Literature. Dodhy's teaching and research specializations are in narratives of exile and migration from South Asia. Currently she is doing research on intersectionality and colorism, a question further problematized by the political discourse of identity. She has published in a range of national and international journals: Pertanika Journal of Social Science & Humanities; Journal of Academia; Pakistan Journal of Women’s Studies: Alam-e-Niswan; Journal of Language and Communication.
