Abstract

In Pakistan, energy resources are decreasing day by day. That is why, lots of national and multinational industries are finding alternative energy sources to meet the energy demands. According to international statistics, Pakistan is left with only few years of Natural Gas. Natural Gas is a source of combustion for industries.

To overcome the excessive demand of Natural Gas and to provide an alternative to Pakistani Industries, research work on Gasification of Pakistani Coal is done. The main purpose of this research is to provide industries an alternative source. The paper includes gasification of Pakistani Coal, drilled from Thar, to produce syn gas which in turn produces Ammonia via SIMULATION on ASPEN PLUS. The project also includes designing and calculations of production of 10000M ton Ammonia per year through gasification of Pakistani Coal that produces syn gas along with their relevant aspects such as, instrumentation and control , HAZOP analysis, economic viability and environmental aspects
