Conference Policies

Introduction and Scope

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of the Punjab, will host its first International Conference ‘Emerging Trends in Arts and Humanities’ from June 15 to 16, 2021. This Conference will be held virtually but centred in the oldest and the most prestigious University of Pakistan, situated in the historically vibrant
city of Lahore. Keeping up with the University’s tradition of scholarly engagement and social responsibility, its Faculty of Arts and Humanities believes that the contribution of the Arts and Humanities is often marginalized since its accomplishments are often not measured quantitatively. The conference thus aims
to highlight that the significance of this disciplinary domain has a crucial role in shaping multifarious communities. In this regard, our theme ‘Emerging Trends in the Arts and Humanities’ is a generative one. Desiring change through updated practices, this virtual conference aims to arrest our capacity for reflection on contemporaneity, while observing social distancing amidst the pandemic.

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities comprises English Studies, French, Sports Science and Education, Pakistan Studies, History, SouthAsian Studies, Archaeology, Philosophy, Fine Arts and Design. Therefore, the conference invites scholars, teachers, practitioners and experts belonging to all these disciplines in order to share, discuss and debate common contemporary concerns, challenges and trends in apparently diverse academic spaces.
