Abstract


A history of successors of mughal king Aurangzeb Alamgir and hissuccessors (1707-1720 A.D) down to fall of the Syayyids known as SadatBara. The historian Rami was a royal servant in mughal/ indian army andwas attached with Muhammdad Yousaf Darogha/ incharge of servantsworking in the the palacen in the reign of Muhammad Muazzam Shah Alamknown as Bahadur Shah (1707-1712) to the time of Farrukh Siyyar (1719 -1724) and was deputed by Muhammad Yousaf as composer/ Munshi towrite historical events (Rami, p. 63A manuscript).The Author was a good poet as well and quoted his own verses in all thetext with his poetic name "Rami". The author participated in battle as wellwith his master, Muhammad Yousaf in wars of Deccan against Daud KhanPanni and was bestowed with the rank of Munshi (official writer)The present work was completed in 1226 A.H/ 1812, and wasscribed by ghulam Chishti Khan Baricha (colophon) for a British executive"James Potten". The manuscript dwells on period of Aurangzeb Alamgirand his successors and their battles for throne. it presents an eye witnessaccount, personal experiences and observation of the author during theperiod of 1118-1132/ 1707-1722 A.D. i.e. reign of Aurangzeb Alamgir tothe 3rd year of of Muhammad Shah's reign, 1722(Fall of sayyid brothers, powerfull ministers in the mughal court)
