Umagh Bukharai, Shahab-ud-din
Abstract
In the start of 6th century in Mavara-un-nahar, “Umagh Bukharai” was thepredominantly renowned poet. He was the admirer of “Sultan Sanjur” andsultan ‘Khuzer bin Ibrahim’ wali-e-Mavara-en-nahar bestowed him with thetitle of ‘malik-u-shura’.“Umagh” hailed from ‘Bukhara’. He reached to the age of 100 years and diedin 542 A.H.He was expert in using similies and metaphors. His Diwan consists of Qasaid,Rubaiyat and Qata’at and it was published in 1307 A.D in Tabrez.Key words: Shahab ud Din, Mavara –un- Nahar, Diwan.
