Comparatively in a very short span of time, the Short Story gotsignificance in World Literature. More commonly, it deals with the politicalaspects, cultural issues & social problems and goes on reflecting differentaspects of literary movements. Short story actually has deep routes in ourclassical literature as well where it was named Qissa or Hikayat. A story canhave different objectives, positive or negative. It can be written just for the sakeof producing literature and can also be created to express personal sentiments,inner feelings, ideas and ideologies. If we consider Ghazal as the mostimportant poetic structure, then it must be admitted that Short Story is the bestform of prose writings. Several long and short stories have also been mentionedin the Holy Book as well.
