Abstract
Thomas William Beale was a British officer in the revenue department.Other than ‘Oriental Biographical Dictionary’ he also wrote a book in Persianlanguage, titled ‘Miftah-ut-Tawarikh’. This book is a great treasure being acollection of the most valuable chronograms, showing the exact years and datesof the birth & deaths etc. of Muslim kings, philosophers & other eminentpersonalities with historic observation. “Miftah-ut-Tawarikh” has inscriptionsof the ancient buildings with descriptions.
