Mehdi Akhawan Sales, pen name (\] 1928-1990 ) (م ا ) holds a significance place incontemporary Persian literature. Without any shade of doubt, he is the most famous andbeloved contemporary epic poet in Iran. Akhawan is one of those very few modern poetswhose critical, social and moral poetry has been well admired and appreciated in Iran andworld wide.
