Introduction of a Manuscript: “Commentary on Mathnavi-e- Manavi”

Abstract


In this research paper a valuable manuscript titled یO ی „ ح P kept in theGanj Bakhsh Library of the Persian Research Institute of Iran and Pakistan, Islamabad,record No. 8733 has been introduced. This unidentified and the only available manuscriptwas written by Mehr Dil Khan Muhammadzai Qandhari in 1312 A.H. It is one of the fewpoetic manuscripts in which 33 inaugural verses of the Mathnavi-e-Manavi and the storyof King of the Slave Girl in the same Rhyme of Mathnavi Manavi has been explained. Noother copy of this manuscript is available in the world. This poetic commentary hasadopted a unique way of explaining the deep philosophical ideology and mystical issuesrendered by Maulana Rumi.
