Abstract

“Aasar e Tauqeer” is chapter of “Shaheen e Shah e Lolak” a biography of the Syed Muhammad Tauqeer Ahmad Azhar. This chapter contains his poetry and few articles in Arabic, Punjabi, Urdu and English languages. His poetry includes Hammad, Naat, Ghazals, Poems and Qataat. He was basically a Schollar and worked as an Editor cum Lecturer at the Department of Urdu Encyclopedia of Islam, University of the Punjab, Lahore, till his death in 2007. Islamic Sufism, Jurisprudence, Research and Criticism were his favorite topics. He didn’t like to be introduced as a poet. The overall impression of his poetry also proves him to be a creator who has perfect control over the art of poetry and choice of words, but is not a traditional poet. He was not a court poet but one feels that this poetry is a beautiful expression of his spiritual and inner states. The following article provides an in-depth study of his literary work.
